Richard Wolfrom Taylor, KHS 1954

Richard W. Taylor, 85, passed away at Jenner’s Pond, West Grove, on July 14, 2022. Born in West Chester, Pennsylvania to Richard G. and Eleanor W. Taylor, Dick was raised in Kennett Square, attending Kennett schools through his junior year, and graduated from Mercersburg Academy. His B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering was earned at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After working for the DuPont Company and Hercules in their engineering departments, he joined his father in the printing business, KNA Press, in Kennett Square, retiring in 1999. Dick enjoyed and excelled at designing and creating woodworking projects, producing more than 25 pieces of furniture and carvings for family and friends. He enjoyed canoeing, hiking, bridge, extensive travels, and his beloved pets. With his wife and co-worker, Henrietta Bastalick, he wrote and published a book, “Kennett Square Yesterday and Today,” published in 1982. He is survived by his wife, Janice B. Taylor, son, Bryan R. Taylor of Felton, DE, daughter in law, Diana P. Taylor, and five grandchildren, Zachary, Allison, Joshua, Kyle, Ethan, and Elsa, and sister Lynn T. Meyer. He was predeceased by a brother, Ronald R. Taylor, and daughter, Stacy T. Botkin. Funeral arrangements will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to Friends of Anson B. Nixon Park, P. O. Box 1121, Kennett Square, PA 19348.
